For most employers no company setup is required.

With no setup, all enrolled employees have deductions made at 4% of gross earnings.

Also with no setup, all employees starting after 1st July 2007 are automatically enrolled in the scheme, unless the employee is an exempt employee in which case they are not automatically enrolled.

Note in the company setup screen the ability to automatically exempt all new employees as a default.

This setting is contrary to the KiwiSaver Automatic Enrolment rules, which requires all new employees to be enrolled unless they are exempt employees.

As a default, Ace Payroll automatically enrols all new employees, unless they are exempt employees.

Use this setting if employing mainly casual or transient workers for whom the automatic enrolment provisions do not apply, but for some reason you pay them using one of the regular pay frequencies rather than casual.

Note that with this setting, you would then manually enrol all new employees that are not exempt employees, from the KiwiSaver Employee Setup screen.
