Function Keys in Ace Payroll
  • The function keys in Ace Payroll can be used from anywhere in the program, at any time.

  • The keys are especially useful to access features whilst processing a pay, or scanning employee details.

F1 Help - activates the help message associated with the current screen. If pressed when in that help message, this key then launches the Ace Payroll Help Manual, and opens the most logical page for the task at hand. More information on the F1 Help Manual is in an associated FAQ.
F2 Employee Index - brings up the Employee Index, which you can use to view and sort your employee list. Clicking Setup gives further options. For employers with large payrolls, clicking Search allows you to search the list for a character string, rather than scrolling through the list. More information on the employee index is in an associated FAQ.
F3 Modify Employee - takes you to the Modify Employee screen, where you can modify things such as direct credit details, allowances, add an employee note etc. More information on accessing employee maintenance is in an associated FAQ.
F4 Report Index - pressing this key produces an index to all reports available in Ace Payroll.
F5 Version Info - shows your Serial Number, Version Number and ID code - you will often be asked to press this key when calling our helpdesk. More information on accessing this information is in an associated FAQ.
F6 Send Queued Emails - press to send any emailed payslips awaiting despatch as described in an associated FAQ.
F7 Calendar - brings up a full year calendar.
F8 Calculator - brings up a calculator.
F9 Allowance Index - brings up the allowance index, from where you can view all loaded allowances.
